I recently participated in an 18-hour online basic coaching course that Patti led. It far exceeded what I thought was possible via the internet and was one of the best learning experiences in which I have taken part.

Over 6 days, Patti walked us through the basics of effective coaching, using materials developed by Keith Webb. I appreciated the simplicity and clarity of those materials and of Patti’s teaching. Interwoven into her instruction were opportunities for practice with fellow-students, which was invaluable. The practice made coaching come to life, as we learned to follow Keith Webb’s approach. Most impressive was how real this practice turned out to be. This “real-thing” sense was due to each of us coming into the course with our own problems for coaching, rather than using scripted role plays, and to Patti’s online platform, which permitted students to be paired together as coach and coachee during practice. A remarkable learning experience that made me a believer in online coaching and training.

At the heart of the course was Patti herself. She was always encouraging, humorous in the right places and serious when she needed to be. She presented the curriculum with knowledge and care as she guided us through the various modules. By the end of her course, I felt confident that I could provide basic coaching in the settings I regularly confront – with family, friends and co-workers.
